CTP's Competency Based Training is a teaching method for a facility to train and evaluate personnel on operating a process safely and efficiently.  Competency Based Training can apply to any process, whether the process is a steam power plant or a waste water treatment plant.  Competency Based Training  involves four major steps:

• The Needs Assessment

• Development of the competency training documentation and training guide of the defined process

• Train-the-Trainer on using the documentation

• Personnel evaluation for competency on the process

Competency based training is an excellent tool for plant or maintenance supervisors as well as human resources to ensure and evaluate personnel are properly trained on operating a defined process within one's facility.
